Yay! Lisa, Emme and Rusty got to visit for over a week! They came to stay while Rusty preached for us. He ended up preaching 2 weekends, and he did awesome every service! That is my honest, unbiased opinion, too. We did a variety of things like staying in our pj's until 2 PM, eating, walking to the park, playing the Wii, cooking, playing tennis, more eating, shopping, etc. It was so fun. Rusty painted my living room for me, its a deep ocean blue/turquoise, but looks more like boring navy in the pic below. Can't wait to upholster my furniture to match the decor! Emme was really getting used to seeing me every day, she was starting to reach for me a few days before they had to leave.......so sad! :( I know Lacie misses her. Emme kept her well-fed by sending flying particles of food down from her high chair. They were inseparable while Emme was here, they played so good together. Miss them already..........Hope it's not too long before we can do it again!

Well, it's come and it's gone before we knew it. No more presents to open, no more parties to attend, no more eggnog and pumpkin pie. But, there's aways next Christmas. Maybe next time I really will start buying Christmas gifts in August. Lisa, Rusty and Emme came and stayed the Wednesday night before Christmas, it was nice to see some of my family around Christmas time. We spent Christmas Eve doing some shopping at the Plaza, dinner at Cheesecake Factory, and home to open presents. Christmas morning Tyler & I(and Lacie!) exchanged gifts and we had Christmas Dinner with his parents. With some light snow outside it was perfect Christmas weather. Unfortunately, I did cross paths with a couple Scrooges and a few Grinches since my last post, but I chose to rise above them and refused to let them ruin my Christmas spirit! If we are celebrating Jesus' birth, then why are some people so cranky? I can't understand it. But anyway, it was a good holiday for me, and I hope everyone else had a great Christmas!

Yep, Christmas is now upon us. I was so disgusted when all the stores started pumping out Christmas decorations and playing Christmas music in August but now I can kinda see why. I waited too long and now all the decorations I wanted are picked over and sold out. Oh well, more money towards my Christmas gift! : p I semi-decorated for Christmas this year. I really didn't want to bother with a real tree and the mess it makes. Not to mention Lacie likes to chew the bottom branches off and any ornaments she can get ahold of. She killed about six of those white feathery birds last year from our tree. I love Christmas, I just won't have anyone over until I feel that everything in my house is marked 'complete'! So, hence my half-hearted decorating. We went ice-skating Thanksgiving weekend at Crown Center and it was so fun, Tyler 'hates' ice-skating but he held my hand around and around the rink about 50 times. I was grateful. Anyway, before I get really busy and forget to say it, Merry Christmas to all of our family and friends! And please let's not be Scrooges or Grinches, no one likes grumpy people at Christmastime so let's be jolly and crank up Harry Connick and bake all the peppermint this-and-that and drink spiced cider and do whatever it takes to make it feel like Christmas. That's what I'm gonna do for sure! Yay, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Happy Birthday to Grandpa, Me, Mom, Emme and everyone else who had a November birthday! I must say, November is getting a little crowded. Now Emme rules the November birthday party for all time! : p That is unless we have another baby in the family who lands right in the middle of November. I'm hoping not, I'm pretty selfish when it comes to celebrating my birthday! I was able to enjoy my own party at Tyler's parents house, which was nice.

Lisa, Rusty and Emme came for a quick visit the last week of October, I was so excited to see them! Emme has really grown since I had last seen her in July. Rusty did some work on the church and we went shopping while poor Tyler had to work. But we met up with him in downtown Kansas City and ate at Buca di Beppo. Lisa, Emme and I had some fun girl time while Rusty and Tyler just laughed about anything and everything. Rusty is the only person that I know of who can make Tyler laugh until he cries. Tears like, seriously drip off his chin, it's ridiculous. We just roll our eyes when they get this uncontrollable. It seemed they were gone as soon as they came, I guess time just flies when you have an adorable little niece! Don't mind all the pictures of her, I'm just quite proud of her!

On October 21st Lacie turned the big 1! However, this milestone in her life has not stopped her from still acting like a puppy! She has been quite a demanding personality in our house for the last 10 months, I think maybe she just knows she's pretty much ruling the roost so she is trying to get as much attention as she can. Just a theory. Sometimes she is just sweeter than sweet tea and other times I find myself taking deep breaths so as not to beat her to a bloody pulp after chewing large chunks off my favorite shoes. I am most definitely 100% positive that no one else in the world could quite hande this ball of energy. But........we love her!!! You will notice in some of the pics she has random stuff in her mouth, that's just a quirk of hers when she is excited. My personal fave is the one where she's waking Tyler up with a roll of TP in her mouth. Anyway, she's a laugh and a half, enjoy some cute pics I found of her blossoming from a baby into a young lady!

Sunday, 10/10/10 was our 1-year anniversary! And this year went by at lightning speed, I must say! We celebrated by staying at The Raphael in downtown KC and shopping at the Plaza and Brookside, a couple of my favorite shopping areas. (Tyler was very good and did not complain in any of the girly stores!) We ate lunch at a chef-owned cafe called ingredient that I've been dying to try out, and also at one our favorite reastaurants, Em Chamas. They bring you a ricululously endless supply of 14 different sizzling meats, and you get to take as much as you want. A perfect meal for us, anti-vegetarians! Also very heart-attackish. We try to limit our trips there to once every month or so. As you will soon see, I was thoroughly enjoying my 'retro camera' app on my phone (hence the many vintage looking pics below). Some are not, in fact anniversary trip-related but oh well. Anyway, we had much fun. Thanks to those who wished us well on our anniversary! Adios, and can't wait to see my Chico family at Thanksgiving!

Well, life is just a-movin' on here in Missouri! I can finally breathe now that the humidity is gone, it was TERRIBLY TERRIBLE! It literally felt like you were in a sauna. And I know people say that all the time but it seriously felt like that. So hot and so humid. Heat indexes of 110. I couldn't go outside because I immediately started sweating and it was just miserable. All my West Coast friends and family, be so grateful that there are no chiggers there! I walk out to get the mail.... and I have bites ALL over my legs. The most I had at one time was 24. The weather people were even advising you not to go outside unless you had to! I was not a happy person. But the humidity seems to be gone now so I'm happy again! And I'll be happy for a few months, then I'll be cooped up all winter long. But, I'm whole-heartedly appreciating the easy, breezy 70's & 80's right now! Anyway, my house is coming quite along, we've gotten so much more done since the first pics I posted. I feel bad not sharing yet but I promise I will post some more recent pics of the house! Lacie is now 10 months and it seems she may be a petite-y like her mother. She got a short cut at the groomers and she looks so cute! Also, my only neice, who lives just 3 hours away is growing up NOT before my very eyes! Lisa, get your buns up here and see me! This guest room is just aching for some company, come on I'm bored!!!! Anyway, sorry I haven't been posting any pics of Tyler and I, we don't seem to take pictures together anymore. Haha. The ironic thing is that we took like 2,000 pictures while we were dating. Well, they should be coming shortly, on my word! Everyone pray that we can go to my parents for Thanksgiving! Plane tickets alone are like $800. Ya. We may have to drive 1,400 miles x 2 = 2,800 miles. That will be so much fun. I get car sick really easy. Yay. Anyone feel free to send me a sumptuous supply of Dramamine.

For 4th of July and for Ronnie's birthday, we headed out to Branson, MO for some good fun! We went to Silver Dollar City, Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede, and we saw the 'Shepherd of the Hills'. We stopped at Lambert's Cafe (Home of the Throwed Rolls) and I captured a video of the roll-throwing. It was great fun, I hope we get to go again sometime.

Yep, Tyler's birthday was Saturday, June 26th. We went to Em Chamas, per his request and then had a little party for him, per my request! He wanted a turtle cheesecake, so, of course, I obliged him! He got all kinds of stuff, the spoiled thing! I think Colton enjoyed the party more than any of us! I even made Tyler endure a little bit of circus background music! HaHa!

Sorry, everyone, I've been so busy lately! I was getting ready for my parents to come, then getting everything back to normal after everyone left. Getting everything together for Tyler's birthday, then our A/C compressor went out because of a frog laying on it or something. Now we're hanging out at the in-laws until we get the part in. They took us to Branson, MO for Fourth of July weekend. I will post pics of that soon. Anyway, this post is for the family visit we had with my Mom, Dad, Lisa, Emme, Rusty, Jen and Nic. We had lots of fun. We went fishing, mini-golfing, played the wii, went to Worlds of Fun, KC zoo, Science City, visited downtown, etc. Emme got dedicated on Sunday June 12, 2010. We also had quite a weather scare the day they left. The weather people were using the "T" word, and it was crazy windy. But everything turned out to be alright. It was alot of fun, hope we can do it all again soon.

On Wednesday, the girls came up from Independence and stayed for a few days. We did some shopping, swimming, eating, etc. Good times. I mostly have pictures of Emme but how can you blame me? She's just too sweet! Looking forward to having Mom, Dad, Lisa, Rusty, Emme, Jen and Nic this week! It's gonna be a full-packed house but it will be such fun!

So, Tyler has been hounding me to get this particular post up here for 2 weeks so here it is. Monday, April 12, Tyler, myself, Andrea, Derek, Candace and Dustin went to a concert in Lenexa, KS to see Matt Maher, Phil Wickham and Leeland. I mostly went to see Leeland while Tyer went mostly to see Phil. Matt was cool too but he just hasn't been around as long. It was a great concert, good songs, kinda awkward with the whole charismatic wave thing going on, if you know what I mean! It was neat to hear your favorite songs live though! We were abe to meet all three of them after the concert. Pics are enclosed below. We have a ton of videos from Mr. Professional Videographer(Tyler), but unfortunately, his finger is over the mic pick-up so it's a tad muffled, and you can hear him singing louder than the guys with the microphones. So if he can figure out a way to fix it, since he's also a computer guru(no, im not being sarcastic, he really is!), then I'll have those posted shortly. And in case you don't know, Matt is the guy with the silver hair, Phil's is brown/black and Leeland is the cherry tomato head like me. His brother Jack is also in the picture.

So, we decided to go cat-fishing last night after church; Andrea, Derek, Tasha, Aaron, Tyler and I. We bought chicken liver for bait and set off to Debi and Ronnie's pond and fished for 2 hours! Aaron caught one little bitty thing-they had to perform surgery on it to get the hook out, then let it back in the water. The fish in the pond were making noises that sounded suspiciously like squirrels chirping in slow motion. Very creepy. My hands are still cramping from gripping my fishing pole so tight. I didn't get one bite. Oh well, I guess maybe because, like most people, catfish are sleeping in the middle of the night. Or I guess it could have been because we were being so loud too.....
Anyway, it was great fun and I got a couple pics of random objects and Tyler and me being wierd with knee highs. Drew, Gent & Layn will appreciate this seeminlgy immature humor. : p

Hey everyone, it's me, Tyler. I just wanted to share this with all of you. It's pretty obvious but in case you can't figure it out...it's the song Heather sang to me at our wedding. Those of you who were with us during this special occasion will certainly remember the deep trance I was in while overcome by the tenderness in my heart. Why am I not surprised that I still get butterflies, and tears, each and every time I hear her voice ring through my ears?! Oh my dear, avid blog readers!! I have indeed neglected you badly! (Cool cuz Karen, Aunt Doris, etc.....) For this, I am deeply apologetic and I will try to turn over a new leaf starting with this post! Lots and lots has happened since our last post. Firstly, my sweet Grandma Floyd, at age 65, died from Lou Gehrig's disease-most of you already know this-and we were in California for her funeral the 9th-15th of March. Got to see alot of family and friends in Bako and Chico, so some positives and negatives about the trip. We got to be with Emme on her first plane ride! She also had her first REAL, documented smile at 11:04 CST on the plane, in my arms! What more could her Tante ask for?! It was such a blessing that Tyler and I were able to go together instead of being separated for a week, we just weren't ready for that quite yet. We also had our 5 month anniversary on March 10, which we couldn't really do anything since it was the day of the funeral. =( We had dinner with the Varner's (Mom, I must get those pics from you!) and got to meet Mr. Kohen Pettis, what a doll! Tyler was pretty obsessed about how cute he was. The funeral went well except for the crazy sound system kept yelling at Lisa, Megan and I when we were choking our way through a terribly sad song during the ceremony. And someone mistaking my dad for "Mike" instead of Mark in the obituary reading, and someone else leaving him out of their speech altogether. 1st mistake-Awkward. 2nd mistake-Rude. So, ok stepping off my very tall soap box.........it was a very sad day that felt like it would never end. I wish that Tyler and I had been able to spend more time with her in the past. She was a great Grandmother and I will have only wonderful, bright memories of her in this world. Whoo, getting emotional, time to move on! Secondly, Lacie is now a whopping 14 lbs! Thirdly, we got a futon for the guest room and 4 dining chairs! Tonight we sat at the table for the first time. It was a landmark in our lives! And we were sitting at the island on barstools before, not the floor, in case you were wondering! Fourthly, Tyler gifted me with a taser/stunner thing today! So, beware all potential wifenappers! I am armed and probably very dangerous with this piece of electric-throwing, pain in a box! 120, 000 volts, I feel invincible! Apparently, to get the pervert-creepo completely dazed, confused and immobilized, I will have to keep it in direct contact with their arm for 5 seconds. Hopefully they will be nice enough to sit still for me while I grapple for it in my purse, turn the lock button to "UNLOCK" and tase them in the face! Oh, and fifthly(It is a word!), the weather was exsquisite most of this week until last night a horrible, ghastly ice/snow/wind storm came through and wiped it out! I could just tase Mr. Jack Frost right about now! I really hope my budding lilies survive! =( I really need to stop, this is so ridiculously long that no human could possibly read all this hooky-pooky and their brain not explode. I'm just trying to make up for lost time! Love to all and to all a good night! It's 12:03 AM, have to be up at 7 tomorrow! Enjoy pics and captions below.

So, my parents flew into Kansas City Friday, Feb. 12! We took them to our favorite Mexican restaurant in downtown Kansas City, Los Corrales, then took them on the grand tour around Kansas City. Unfortunately I didn't take any pics of downtown, I will next time! They left Friday morning for Independence to see Lisa, Rusty and Emelia. We followed them up Saturday morning and are leaving for home tonight. Mom & Dad are coming back to stay with us Thursday night and leaving Saturday. : ( Here is some of the footage I got of the trip so far, I'll post more if I can get some good ones.

Wedding Photos and Other Random Updates

Well, everyone, we have officially received our wedding photos! Tyler and I are putting together some of our favorites of the whole day and will be posting a link here very shortly! We are so excited to share them with our friends and family, we hope you all enjoy them as much as we did! Tyler Culpepper did a fantastic job!

Lacie is 3 months old today, and according to a westie website I've been looking into, she thinks she is "the ruler of the world"! This, somehow, seems very true! Her personality traits will most likely be similar to others in her breed, "Quick to bark, quick to chase, lively, bossy, feisty, scrappy, clever, independent, stubborn, persistent, impulsive, intense." Apparently, "Terriers can be stubborn and dominant(they want to be the boss) and will make you prove that you can make them do things. You must show them, through absolute consistency, that you mean what you say(and that YOU are the boss!)." Yay! What a sweetie she's going to be! Looks like I've got my work cut out for me.
Okay, really, she isn't that bad, she can be a little brat at times but mostly she's pretty cool! By the way, her ears are up to stay, she looks so cute and grown-up-ish!!

I made the spaghetti with a little fewer noodles than the recipe called for and my own sauce, it was VERY yummy! I would definitely recommend using homemade sauce as opposed to the jar sauce! I'm gonna try the brownies next! Yum!

New Years with Lisa, Rusty & Emme!

Tyler, Lacie & I all packed up and took a mini road trip to Independence, Kansas again to see Lisa and Rusty, as well as their newest addition, Emme! Tyler and I got to hold her for the first time. Tyler opted not to hold her more than once due to feeling that he was not holding her properly. (Her head did look a little crooked but I thought he did just fine! : >) Fortunately or unfortunately-I can't seem to decide which-we had to bring Lacie with us for fear that she would reject us as parents for leaving her with anyone while we were gone! She initiated herself by promptly having an accident on their kitchen floor, just after I tried to take her potty! Luckily, I brought my magic potion for cleaning up her little mistakes and all was well. She also seemed to be quite interested in Emme, a little more jealous than anything, i think. She did not like it so much when Emme was in my arms! Overall, it was quite an eventful trip (Rusty and Lisa will know what I mean!) and we are oh-so-glad that we went! We can't wait to see them all again!

Late Christmas Update

A late Merry Christmas to everyone! It's been so wild around here! We got a puppy, went to all our Christmas parties, Tyler's Granny passed away, and we've been in a blizzard since Thursday night! Some of the snow drifts were seriously about 10 feet tall! It's nuts out there, it's been in the teens for several days now. I have already informed Tyler that we are leaving our Christmas decor up until February!

Everyone, meet Lacie, the newest addition to our family! We got her on Dec. 17, she is a spunky, 2-month-old West Highland Terrier(or a westie). She is so cute and full of personality, but her teeth could pierce a slab of concrete! She gets in these "evil" gears once in awhile, and when she does we just do our best to keep our hands, arms, feet, toes and face out of her jaws of death! But when she comes up to you with those sleepy eyes and curls up in your lap it just makes the biting and accidents and midnight potty breaks all worth it. Even Tyler is a little melted by her, I think. I caught him telling her that he loved her so, ya, he's a goner. : ) I can't wait for her ears to stick up, you can tell from the first to the last pic how they've already started to perk up. Will post more soon!

Finally, I decided to put some pics up of the house! These are actually about 2 weeks old, hence the harvest theme on the porch! I did not post a picture of the guest room because it is just a catch-all right now and not up to par! Nor any pics of the front or back yard because SOMEONE keeps putting off the chore of raking and removing leaves! Haha. My favorite rooms, color/decorwise are definitely the kitchen and master bedroom. I love my house, we are so blessed to have this just starting out!

Finger Update!

I got my stitches taken out yesterday, Thursday, December 3! Yay! But I'm still in my splint for another 2 weeks! Poo! Anyways, it sure looks alot better now than it did. Yes, it looks gross and swollen because it's exactly that, gross and swollen. The scar will be very beautiful, I'm sure!

We went to Independence, Kansas last Sunday to Bro. Sorah's to see my sister and bro-in-law, Lisa and Rustyn! We had alot of fun! Especially driving 3 hours after church that night to get back home! Tyler and Rusty performed open-heart surgery on the laptop while Lisa and I went through baby stuff. Then we looked up crazy snake-handling pentecostals on youtube, it was nuts! The snake actually bit the pastor, which I thought was hilarious! If I can figure out a way, I will post the video somehow. Anyway, here's a few pics of the quick visit with Lisa, Rusty & Emme.

High Drama at the Domerese residence!

I just found out about a week ago today that ME + A very sharp knife = A really not-good-feeling cut on my finger! Ya, OUCH! I was cutting some wonderful smelling bread right out of the breadmaker, like a good little wife, and on the very last slice.....instead of cutting into the bread, I cut right into the side of my left index finger! Joy of joys! It hurt, ya, but it seemed to start hurting even more when i looked down to see the skin around the cut flapping open and revealing what looked like my bone! Ya, so I called for Tyler and we grabbed my purse and the whole roll of paper towels and sped to emergency! No waiting, thank God! We were the only people there. The doctor told us that I had cut 50% of the tendon(which is what I had seen), and that we would have to follow up with a plastic surgeon. So, we did, and they told us they wanted to do surgery that very day! So, we did again, and they had to open up the stitches and cut the incision even longer. So i went in with 4 stitches and walked out with 6 and an arm/hand splint. I posted some pics so you can see what I had to go through! lol

Well, we have made it through the wedding, the honeymoon,the first home-cooked meal, the first departure(Tyler had to go to work!), the first church service, the first bill in the mail, the first argument(haha, just kidding) and I guess that's all that's very important for now. Now Tyler is at work, again(!), why DOES he always do that?! I'll never know why he would want to leave this warm house, as well as me, to go work out in the cold! : ) Really though, he keeps the house warm, Shatto chocolate milk in the fridge and Cheez-Itz in the pantry! Yum! What more could a girl ask for? So, anyway, I'm trying my hand at this whole blogging thing which is really weird to me, but I'm trying! I really should be doing those couple dishes on the counter , they are staring at me right now. As well as all the dead ladybugs on the floor. Ya, pretty creepy. I guess there's a mini epidemic of ladybugs from the crops or something, and they are all getting into MY HOUSE!! They come in on warm days and just find a nice place on my clean floor, curl up, and croak! It's just.......incorrigible! The leftover candy from the wedding is still on my counter, I'm eating some right now, I hope I don't croak too! We are missing all living room furniture, as well as, a kitchen table. Not too horrible, it's just a little awkward when we have any guests over! : ) Halloween was a joke, we had ONE trick-or-treater, a tiny pumpkin, who turned out to be our adorable nephew, Colton! I really wish I had a picture of him but, silly ol' me, I left my purse at my in-laws house for no apparent reason! I'm turning into my Grandma Newton! That's actually a good thing because she is seriously the coolest grandma of all time! And only to be paired with the coolest grandpa around! We love Grandma & Grandpa! It is my goal to have pictures of all my family including my new, add-ons: Roni, Debi, Derek, Andrea & Colton! Hopefully that will be possible if I can manage to keep my purse on my shoulder. Also, as soon as we get the wedding pictures in our hands we will be sure to post them somehow or another. We are very anxious to see them all! Thank you to all who came to the wedding, for all the wonderful gifts, and to those who helped behind-the-scenes! Thanks Mom & Dad for all your help! WE APPRECIATE IT!!
